Crucible Odyssey - Works in Bronze

I began the residency at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre at a very appropriate time. In August 2002 the West Cork Arts Centre mounted a ten year overview of my previous work, almost all woodcarvings. Following this show I felt it was a good time to leave working with wood aside for a time and explore other materials. I applied for the residency because I was interested in learning about the bronzecasting process. So coming to Manorhamilton to spend twelve months working with bronze was a welcome opportunity and challenge to explore new ideas in a new material.
